Family feud turns deadly: Nephew kills uncle over ₹50,000 debt

Rewari (The Uttam Hindu): An incident that shames blood relations has come to light in Rewari, Haryana, involving a monetary transaction. A nephew beat his own maternal uncle to death over a mere 50,000 rupees dispute. The dispute stemmed from an old transaction during the COVID-19 lockdown. The accused nephew fled the scene after the incident, but a video has surfaced showing him threatening the family. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
The joy of marriage turned into mourning
The deceased has been identified as 44-year-old Parshuram, a resident of Bawwa village in Rewari district, who was a supervisor at a company in Gurugram. On Sunday night, Parshuram had come to Bawwa village with his family to attend a wedding. His nephew, Rohit, a resident of Dakhora in Gurugram, was also present. After the wedding, when Parshuram returned to his ancestral home in the village, Rohit arrived with some of his friends. An argument over money broke out between the two, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation. It is alleged that Rohit pushed his uncle hard, causing him to hit his head on the stairs. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead.
The old calculation was from the time of Covid
Police investigations have revealed that the root of the dispute was a transaction made during the COVID-19 pandemic. Accused Rohit claims that he deposited 50,000 rupees into his maternal uncle Parshuram's account during the lockdown. According to the deceased's brother-in-law, Parshuram stated that Rohit had given the money in exchange for goods, so there was no question of a loan. Parshuram consistently denied the liability, but Rohit demanded his money back. This enmity led to the bloody conflict at the wedding venue.
The accused was seen threatening in the video, a case was registered
Following the murder, a video surfaced showing the accused nephew openly threatening his uncle's family. The accused, along with his associates, has been absconding since the incident. Kosli police, acting swiftly on a complaint from the deceased Parshuram's wife, have registered a case against the accused nephew, Rohit, and his wife. Police say the matter is being investigated and the accused will be arrested soon.
