Chhindwara (Uttam Hindu): When teachers, who spread the light of knowledge, become monsters, it's natural to lose faith in humanity. A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara district, where, fearing for their government jobs, a teacher couple buried their four-day-old child alive under rocks in the forest.

This incident is a shame on both society and motherhood. The accused parents, Bablu and Rajkumari Dandolia, are teachers at Nandwadi Primary School. This was their fourth child. They feared that the birth of a fourth child could lead to the loss of their jobs under government regulations. This ignorance and fear led them to take this horrific step.

There is a saying that “Jaako Rakhe Saiyan, Maar Sake Na Koi”. On the morning of September 27th, the teacher couple took their newborn baby to a deserted forest near Road Ghat and buried him between heavy stones and fled. The child fought for life all night amidst cold, hunger and wild animals. The next morning, a biker passing by heard the child crying. When he went closer and saw the innocent child buried between the stones, he was shocked. He immediately informed the villagers and the police, after which the child was immediately admitted to the hospital.

After an investigation, the police arrested the accused teacher parents. The reason they gave during interrogation was shocking. They confessed that they feared the birth of a fourth child would jeopardize their government jobs and could lead to their suspension or dismissal.

However, the Madhya Pradesh Civil Services rules state otherwise. According to the rules, anyone who has more than two children after January 26, 2001, is ineligible for a government job. This rule does not apply to having children after employment, and there is no provision for dismissal.

The police are now preparing to add charges of attempted murder to the case. Meanwhile, the district administration is issuing notices to the accused teachers and threatening departmental action. This incident has shocked the entire area. The innocent child is currently under the care of doctors in the hospital, while his parents are in jail. Authorities are now faced with the question of who will hand over the child once he recovers, as the couple also has three other young children who have been left destitute by this incident.
