Patna(The Uttam Hindu): The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is likely to retain power in Bihar, with most exit polls predicting a decisive majority for the alliance. The exit polls project the NDA to win between 133-167 seats in the 243-member Assembly, while the opposition Mahagathbandhan is expected to secure 70-102 seats.

Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Mahagathbandhan, has dismissed the exit polls, claiming they are "entirely wrong" and were conducted at the direction of the BJP's top leadership. Yadav has expressed confidence that the Mahagathbandhan will form the government, citing high voter turnout and people's desire for change.

The BJP and JD(U) have welcomed the exit poll predictions, with Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha thanking the people of Bihar for their support. The voter turnout in the elections was a record 67%, with women outnumbering men.

The counting of votes is scheduled for November 14, and the results are expected to be announced the same day.
