Tragedy During Ganpati Visarjan: 1 Dead, Several Injured in Electrocution Incident

Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic incident has come to light during the Ganpati immersion procession in Mumbai. According to the information, during the immersion, the electric wire hanging on the way touched the idol. One person died due to electric shock and more than 6 people were injured.

The incident took place on Khairani Road in Sakinaka area when an electric wire struck the idol of Ganpati ji. The official said that 5 injured (Subhashu Kamat, Tushar Gupta, Dharmaraj Gupta, Karan Kanojia and Anush Gupta) were admitted to Paramount Hospital and their condition is stated to be stable. As the state bid farewell to Bappa on a large scale, accidents were also reported from some places. Three people were swept away during Ganesh idol immersion in Palghar. However, they were rescued. An Indian Coast Guard helicopter and a Mumbai Police drone maintained aerial surveillance during the immersion procession.
