Ujjain's dark diwali: Tantric rituals on burning pyres, offerings to dead yield 'Guaranteed' results

Ujjain (The Uttam Hindu): Ujjain, the city of Mahakal, has been considered a center of tantra, mantra, and sadhana for centuries. Every year on the night of Diwali—known as Kartik Amavasya—tantriks and sadhaks gather at the cremation grounds here for special rituals. This year too, Ujjain's Vikrant Bhairav cremation ground is in the news for its unique tantric practices. It is being reported that some candidates are conducting special tantric practices here to ensure victory in the Bihar Assembly elections.
Tantra practitioner Jayvardhan Bhardwaj explained that this special ritual began on the night of Dhanteras and will conclude at midnight on the new moon day of Diwali. He acknowledged that some political candidates have also organized special pujas to secure luck and victory during this year's rituals. The tantric ritual requires liquor, lemons, sweets, mawa, fruits, vermillion, abir, matches, sticks, flowers, lamps, and other materials. The ritual begins at midnight and lasts for one and a half to two hours. The ritual is performed according to the practitioner's wishes. The reasons may vary. Tantra-mantra, yantra, totka, Kalwa Sadhana, Veer Sadhana, Yakshini Sadhana, Veer Bhatt, Betal Sadhana, and Shav Sadhana are performed. Tantric rituals performed at the cremation ground in Ujjain on the new moon day yield 101% results.
Meat and liquor are offered to the dead body
Shav Sadhana is also done on the burning pyre for peace and happiness. Shav Sadhana is done by sitting near the burning pyre. In Tantra Kriya, lemon, chilli, salt and liquor are offered to the dead body. Apart from Shav and Shiv Sadhana, the third Sadhana is Shamshan Sadhana. The person getting the Sadhana done can also participate in this. Such Sadhanas are often done in the cremation ground of Tarapith, Kamakhya Peeth cremation ground, Trimbakeshwar and Chakratirtha cremation ground of Ujjain. In such Sadhanas, meat and liquor are especially offered to the dead body as Prasad.
According to practitioners, the Vikrant Bhairav Sthal, also known as Bhairavgarh, is the place of worship of Bhairav Baba himself. It is said that rituals performed at this site bestow one hundred percent success and victory. Therefore, tantric practices here hold special significance for desires such as winning elections, acquiring wealth, or gaining power.
A Rare Combination of Amavasya and Tantra:
According to mythology, Kartik Amavasya is considered the most powerful new moon of the year. On this night, Tantric practitioners worship Bhairav Baba, Goddess Kali, Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Kubera, and Lord Ganesha. To attain Lakshmi and gain dominance, many Tantric practitioners also perform owl sacrifice, tortoise sadhana, Kodi sadhana, and Gauri-Ganesh sadhana.
Ujjain is counted among the country's major Tantric sites
This cremation ground in Ujjain is counted among the five famous Tantric sites of India – Kamakhya, Tarapith, Rajrappa, Trimbakeshwar, and Ujjain Vikrant Bhairav. Here, on the night of Diwali, when the entire city is illuminated with lamps, seekers, immersed in darkness, perform penance to invoke Siddhi, Shakti, and Lakshmi. This remarkable confluence has once again brought Ujjain to the center of mysterious spirituality and political beliefs.
