New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A domestic company is now preparing to create a big stir in the Indian smartphone market. Domestic smartphone manufacturer NxtQuantum is going to step out of the budget segment and directly enter the premium and foldable market through its sub-brand Ai+. The company has officially confirmed that it is bringing its first foldable phone 'Nova Flip'. With this announcement, discussions have heated up in the tech world, because former CEO of Realme India, Madhav Seth, is the co-founder of this company. This company, which entered the Indian market with two budget phones in July 2025, will now expand the Nova series and launch Nova Pro, Nova Ultra and Nova Flip in the first quarter of 2026.

The biggest highlight of this new foldable phone is its operating system and security features. The brand has clarified that Nova Flip will run on the company's own indigenous operating system 'NxtQuantum OS'. The company claims that this software has been specially designed for the foldable format, so that users can take full advantage of the phone's folds. In today's era, where smartphones are full of unwanted apps, the company has promised that this phone will have 'zero pre-loaded bloatware'. This means that the phone will not have any unnecessary apps pre-loaded and users will have complete control over their personal data.

While Ai+ hasn't yet revealed all the phone's specifications, the company has dropped a big hint regarding pricing. According to reports, the Nova Flip will be launched at a price of less than ₹40,000. If this happens, while it will be the Ai+ brand's most expensive phone yet, it could also be the country's most affordable foldable phone compared to existing flip phones from companies like Samsung and Motorola. This price could prove to be a game-changer in the Indian mid-premium segment.

A teaser released by the company has revealed some glimpses of the phone's design. The phone will feature a clamshell design with a dual rear camera setup. A small cover display will be available on the outside for viewing important notifications. The main screen on the inside will house a punch-hole selfie camera. The power button has been painted a different color to give the design a slightly different look. Currently, suspense remains regarding the phone's processor and battery capacity, but its launch in early 2026 will likely lead to a fierce competition in the foldable phone race.
