New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): OpenAI, a leading company in the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI), is going to introduce a new and very exciting feature for its popular chatbot ChatGPT. Under this new update, users will now be able to directly create animated GIFs by simply typing a text prompt or uploading any of their photos. Through this, any ordinary photo can be transformed into a lifelike animation with happiness, anger, surprise or various human emotions and expressions. This feature will give users a seamless experience of creating personalized GIFs by freeing them from third-party apps and complex editing tools.

You can add animation to text and life to personal photos

The working of the new feature has been made very simple and effective. If a user instructs ChatGPT to create a GIF of a specific scene - like a cat dancing or a fictional character running - the AI will create a high-quality animated GIF in a matter of seconds. For this, users will not need to search for existing GIFs on the internet, download them or use any video editing software. Apart from this, users will be able to upload their or their friends' photos and animate them in various funny expressions and share them directly from the platform.

Playback speed from 0.5x to 2x and complete control on each frame

The biggest feature of this new feature is that it will not only generate GIF automatically but will also give users extensive control of customization. According to the report, users will be able to easily adjust the playback speed of the created GIF from 0.5x (slow motion) to 2x (fast speed). Not only this, users will be able to make desired changes in the animation by viewing different frames individually. If the desired result is not obtained in the first attempt, then the output can be made more accurate by refining the prompt.

Part of the new 'Images 2.6' model, the speed of image generation will also be faster

This GIF generation functionality in ChatGPT is being added with OpenAI's latest 'Images 2.6' model. With the arrival of this upgraded model, the speed of image generation in ChatGPT will become much faster than before. According to the data shared by OpenAI, currently more than 4 billion images are being generated every week on ChatGPT and its API network, which is a significant increase from the figure of about 3 billion per week recorded in September. The new model will be able to handle this heavy workload more efficiently.

Rollout started on all three platforms - web, desktop and mobile

This new update of OpenAI is being rolled out in a phased manner for the users of ChatGPT and Codex on all three platforms - web version, desktop app and mobile (Android and iOS). According to the company, not all users will get this feature at once, rather it is being activated gradually in different regions and batches. Hence, some users may have to wait a little for this feature to appear on their devices.
