Something Big Brewing: Internet Services Suspended for 23 Days

Islamabad (The Uttam Hindu) - Something big is going to happen from Balochistan. Such signals have started coming. In fact, the Pakistan government has decided to black out the internet in Balochistan province. Pakistan Telecommunication Department has issued a notification of internet shutdown till 31 August (total 23 days) for security reasons. Internet shutdown has affected millions of people. Studies, online work, business and access to social media have come to a complete halt. Especially students and people earning from the Internet are most worried. However, the report claims that this decision has been taken due to potential security threats. But the government has not yet given any official information about these threats. It is also not clear when internet services will be restored.
Senior journalist Mir Yar Baloch has written a post on social media regarding internet shutdown. According to Mir Yar, on one hand the government has shut down the internet in Pakistan. On the other hand, Baloch fighters have started attacking those places including railway tracks, which were considered the safest in Balochistan.
