Last-Minute Scrub: SpaceX Cancels Starship Megarocket Launch, Elon Musk Cites Oxygen Leak

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Elon Musk-led SpaceX on Monday postponed the 10th test flight of its giant rocket Starship due to ground system problems. Elon Musk himself has given the reason for this. While explaining the reason through the X platform, he also told when the next flight will take place. The CEO of Tesla said, "The oxygen leak needs to be fixed at the ground level. We will do another launch tomorrow."
SpaceX canceled the scheduled test flight of its Starship rocket on Sunday night, just minutes before the launch, citing a technical problem in ground systems. Let us tell you, the launch of Starship 10 was scheduled on Sunday at 7:30 pm (EDT) from the company's Starbase site in South Texas. However, just 17 minutes before the launch time, the company canceled it. SpaceX said on the social media platform X that its flight has been postponed due to a malfunction in the ground system. However, Musk later explained the reason for the malfunction by talking about oxygen leak.
The flight postponement is another setback for Musk; Starship has suffered repeated failures in recent months. So far, Starship has completed nine test missions, but the last three, launched in January, March and May this year, had serious problems. Flight 7 and Flight 8 exploded less than 10 minutes after the ship launched, while Flight 9 was destroyed as it re-entered Earth's atmosphere. Space wrote in a blog post that Flight 10 was planned after investigating and changing previous shortcomings. It is considered to be the world's most powerful rocket Starship. It was scheduled to launch from Boca Chica on August 25 at 5 am. Now it will be launched at 5 am on Tuesday according to Indian time. Earlier it was scheduled to fly on June 29, but it was changed due to the blast during the static fire test. During the test, a sudden explosion started in the upper part of the rocket, after which the entire rocket turned into a fireball.
