Mid-Air Horror: Air India Engine Fails With 161 Passengers Onboard

Indore (Uttam Hindu News): There was a commotion at Indore's Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport this morning and the heartbeat of the passengers stopped when the engine of an Air India Express plane coming from Delhi stopped in the air. An emergency call from the pilot created panic at the airport, after which the plane had to make an emergency landing. There were a total of 161 people on board the plane, whose lives were in danger for a few moments.
This incident happened with Air India Express flight number AXB 1028. The plane was on its regular flight from Delhi to Indore and had reached the skies of Indore for landing. Then suddenly the pilot found a technical fault in one of the engines of the plane and within a short time the engine stopped working. Without wasting any time, the pilot immediately called “Mayday” to Indore ATC (Air Traffic Control) and informed about the emergency.
As soon as the pilot's emergency message was received, a full emergency was declared at the airport. Amid the sound of sirens, fire brigade vehicles, ambulances and CISF teams immediately took charge of the runway. All rescue teams were kept on alert due to the possibility of any untoward incident.
161 lives were at stake in the sky above and rescue teams were ready on the ground below. Finally, the pilot, showing his intelligence and skill, successfully landed the plane safely on the runway at 09:54 am with the help of only one engine. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as soon as the plane touched the runway. All the passengers were safely evacuated from the plane and no one was harmed. The plane is currently standing on runway-02 and technical experts have started investigating this serious fault.
This incident brought back painful memories of the horrific Air India plane crash that took place in Ahmedabad in June this year. Both the engines of the plane bound for London had stopped working soon after take off and the plane crashed into a medical college campus. In that accident, all the people on board the plane except one passenger and many people on the ground were killed. Today, the pilot's ability in Indore averted a similar tragedy.
