31 Naxalites Killed in Major Operation on Chhattisgarh-Telangana Border

Bijapur (The Uttam Hindu): Security forces have achieved a big success against Naxalites in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. Security forces have killed 31 Naxalites in a joint operation conducted in Karregutta hill area. Along with this, a large amount of weapons and ammunition have also been recovered.
The CRPF DG informed that the anti-Naxal operation started in 2014, but since 2019, this operation has gained more momentum. Joint training has been arranged for the soldiers across the country, which has increased their strategic and tactical capabilities. He informed that while 35 districts used to be the centers of Naxal activities in 2014, by 2025 this number has been reduced to only 6 districts. Due to the coordinated efforts of the government and security agencies, there has been a significant reduction in Naxal violence. Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated the security forces on this operation. He said that achieving a historic success in the resolve of 'Naxal Free India', the security forces killed 31 notorious Naxalites on Kurraguttalu Hill (KGH) on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border in the biggest operation ever against Naxalism.
The Home Minister said that the tricolour is flying proudly on the mountain where red terror once reigned. Kurraguttalu hill was the unified headquarters of big Naxal organizations like PLGA Battalion 1, DKSZC, TSC and CRC, where Naxal training as well as strategies and weapons were made. He said that our security forces completed this biggest anti-Naxal operation in just 21 days and I am extremely happy that there was not a single loss of life in the security forces in this operation. I congratulate our CRPF, STF and DRG soldiers who faced the Naxalites with their bravery and courage even in bad weather and inaccessible mountainous area. The whole country is proud of you. Shah said, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are determined to eradicate Naxalism from its roots. I assure the countrymen again that India is sure to be Naxal-free by March 31, 2026." It is noteworthy that the operation was successfully carried out with the cooperation of security forces and intelligence agencies. This type of action in inaccessible hilly areas like Karregutta is a proof of the vigilance and courage of the security forces.
