AAP MLA Raman Arora and ATP Sukhdev Vashisht Engage in Heated Exchange During Vigilance Interrogation

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): Vigilance has arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Jalandhar Central Assembly seat Raman Arora in a corruption case. Meanwhile, news is coming that during interrogation in the Vigilance office, MLA Raman Arora and ATP Sukhdev Vashisht got into an argument.

In the vigilance office, both of them lost their temper while accusing each other. After this, the matter started reaching to a scuffle, so the vigilance team left from there with the MLA and then he was kept in another police station at night. He was brought back in the morning and questioned again. Apart from tea, the MLA was given simple food like dal-roti and paratha. After the arrest of ATP (Assistant Town Planner) Sukhdev Vashisht, who was surrounded by corruption charges, the vigilance team has started investigating a big illegal property scam in Jalandhar. During the interrogation, the ATP revealed many secrets. On the basis of these, the team has collected the record of more than 30 such properties, whose estimated value is said to be more than two hundred and fifty crore rupees.

It is being told that when the vigilance questioned Sukhdev strictly, he accepted that he had pasted notices at many places on the instructions of the MLA. When this matter was asked to both of them face to face, Raman got upset. Both of them started arguing. Vigilance has got hold of a fake notice, which was pasted on buildings under construction to scare people. The role of the MLA behind this notice is also being investigated. Now efforts are being made to find out how many buildings were issued such fake notices in the last three years and where and how these notices were prepared. The investigation so far has revealed that most of the properties in which MLA Raman Arora invested are in the name of his relatives and close ones. Many relatives have been identified. Now the vigilance team is investigating their source of income, process of property purchase and money transactions. Some relatives are said to be absconding to avoid interrogation.
