Agra(The Uttam Hindu): In a rare display of courage, a 10-year-old boy in Agra risked his life to rescue his father from a crocodile attack in the Chambal River, Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place in Jharanapura Harlalpur village, Basouni police station area, where Veerbhan, a 35-year-old farmer, had gone to fetch water with his children, Ajay and Kiran. While filling a bottle, he was suddenly attacked by a crocodile lurking in the river. The reptile clamped its powerful jaws around his leg and attempted to drag him underwater.

Terrified but determined, young Ajay shouted, “I won’t let anything happen to Papa!” and grabbed a sturdy babool branch lying nearby. With all his strength, he struck the crocodile multiple times. The repeated blows weakened the animal’s grip, forcing it to release his father.

The crocodile then turned toward Ajay, but the brave boy swiftly moved back, avoiding its attack. By that time, Veerbhan managed to crawl out of the water, bleeding heavily from deep bite wounds. The children’s cries alerted nearby villagers, who rushed to the spot. Veerbhan was immediately taken to the Bah Primary Health Centre and later shifted to the district hospital in critical condition. Locals are hailing Ajay as a real-life hero, praising his quick thinking and unmatched bravery.
