Chhatarpur(The Uttam Hindu): A roadside eatery that shelters many Bageshwar Dham pilgrims collapsed around 3:30 a.m. during a bout of heavy rain and lightning, police said. One woman from Uttar Pradesh died at the scene; ten other devotees suffered injuries and are being treated in hospital.

Investigators have sent the woman’s body for a post‑mortem and opened an inquiry into the structural failure. Locals note that the dhaba is a common rest stop for worshippers visiting the popular shrine.

The incident follows another tragedy on 3 July, when a temporary shed inside the Dham complex gave way during the evening aarti, fatally injuring a devotee. Authorities are reviewing the safety of temporary structures near the pilgrimage site amid the ongoing monsoon.
