New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Just ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has parted ways with one of Team India’s most trusted support staff members, Rajeev Kumar, who served as the official masseur of the national team for more than 15 years.

Rajeev, a familiar face in the Indian dressing room, had been with the Men in Blue since the mid-2000s and was an integral part of multiple international tours, including the recent England series. However, the BCCI has now decided not to renew his contract, effectively ending his long-standing association with Team India.

The veteran masseur himself confirmed the news by sharing a heartfelt Instagram story. He wrote: “It has been an honor and privilege to serve the Indian cricket team for a decade (2006–2015). I am truly grateful to God for this opportunity and thankful for the journey. I look forward to the path ahead with gratitude.”

For years, Rajeev played a crucial role in helping Indian cricketers recover after matches, easing their fatigue and keeping them physically ready for the next challenge. His contribution, though often behind the scenes, made him one of the most respected members of the Indian support staff.

With the Asia Cup around the corner, Rajeev’s absence will certainly be felt in the Indian camp, as he was considered not just a masseur but also a morale booster for the players.
