Big News: Mob Beats BJP Leader, Smashes Vehicle in Deadly Clash

Haldwani(The Uttam Hindu): A violent political clash broke out late Sunday night in the Gaulapar region of Haldwani, allegedly fueled by election-related rivalry. Former BJP Gaulapar Mandal president and husband of a district panchayat candidate, Mukesh Belwal, was reportedly attacked along with his supporters by a large group of assailants.
According to the complaint filed with the police, the incident occurred around 11 PM when a local BJP woman leader informed Mukesh Belwal that a group of men were allegedly harassing her outside her home and banging on her door. Belwal claims he first informed the police and then rushed to her aid with 15–20 supporters.
However, as their convoy reached the Govindgram area, they were intercepted by dozens of men allegedly waiting in ambush. Before they could comprehend the situation, the attackers began vandalizing their vehicles and launched a violent assault with sticks and rods. Mukesh and his supporters were chased and beaten, resulting in multiple injuries.
Two of Belwal's supporters, Gaurav Joshi and Bhuvan Joshi, sustained serious injuries and were immediately hospitalized. Others managed to flee the scene to save themselves.
