Terror Scare in Mumbai! Bombay Stock Exchange Gets RDX Bomb Threat, Security Forces Rush to the Spot

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Panic gripped Mumbai on Tuesday after an email threatening to blow up the iconic Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sent shockwaves through the city. The threatening mail, received on the BSE’s official website, claimed that four RDX IED bombs had been planted inside the BSE Tower and would detonate at 3 PM.
Authorities immediately alerted the local police, following which bomb squads and security personnel rushed to the scene. The entire building was evacuated and an extensive search operation was carried out. After hours of thorough inspection, no suspicious objects or explosives were found, confirming it to be a hoax threat.
Police revealed that the threatening email was sent from an account named ‘Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan’. A case has been registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for creating terror and endangering public safety.
This is not the first such incident in the city. On June 15, a bomb threat call targeted the US Consulate in Mumbai, and later on June 16, similar threats were made to two prominent schools—Kanakia International School and Ryan International School. All turned out to be hoaxes after security checks.
