Srinagar (Uttam Hindu): The Border Security Force held a press conference on Operation Sindoor in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. The BSF talked about dealing with the challenges of terrorism and attacks in the coming days and said that Operation Sindoor is still going on.

BSF Inspector General of Jammu Frontier Shashank Anand said that we cannot trust Pakistan. He said that the vigilance of security forces has been increased on the border. He said that there were reports that the enemy could plan some kind of mischief or cross-border firing or infiltration. We are ready and alert to deal with it. Anand also said that BSF women personnel, including Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari, have shown exemplary courage by being posted at forward posts. Along with this, he said that we are proposing to name one post in Samba sector after Operation Sindoor and two others after the martyrs.

The IG said that pre-emptive strikes were carried out and heavy losses were inflicted. The enemy was forced to retreat. Their soldiers, Rangers and terrorists suffered casualties. He said that inputs were being received about firing from across the border and infiltration under its cover. But the BSF and the Army are jointly dealing with the tunnel threats. We are keeping a close watch on every inch of the ground, the IG said. Talking about the infiltration attempts foiled by the BSF in the past, the officers said that they had foiled an infiltration attempt by 40 to 50 suspected terrorists along the international border during a pre-emptive firefight. They said that the BSF has successfully foiled a major infiltration attempt of suspected terrorists trying to cross the border under the cover of Pakistani shelling in Sialkot sector.
