Tragic Road Accident: Tanker Collides with Tractor Trolley, 8 Devotees Dead

Bulandshahr (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic road accident occurred in Khurja, Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh, when a tanker rammed into a tractor trolley carrying devotees. The accident claimed the lives of eight pilgrims, while at least 45 others were injured.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dinesh Kumar Singh, the accident took place near the Aligarh border on NH-34. The tractor was carrying around 60–61 people from Kasganj, who were on their way to Gogamedi in Rajasthan to pay obeisance, when a speeding tanker crashed into it from behind. The tractor overturned, leaving several passengers trapped and injured.

All the injured were rushed to hospitals. Eight were declared dead, while 45 are under treatment, with three reported to be in critical condition. Ten of the seriously injured have been shifted to Aligarh Medical College, while others are receiving treatment at district and local hospitals.

Police confirmed that the tanker involved in the accident has been seized and the tractor removed from the site. “The priority is to ensure proper treatment of the injured,” said officials.

Taking immediate cognizance, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the incident and announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh each for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured. The state government will also bear all medical expenses of the victims.

Eyewitnesses said the collision was so severe that many devotees in the trolley were thrown off onto the road. Police teams, ambulances, and locals rushed to the spot to rescue the victims and shift them to hospitals.
