Delhi Police Uncovers Fake Document Ring, 40 Illegal Bangladeshis Arrested – Bengal Feels the Heat

New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): South Delhi District Police has arrested 40 Bangladeshi intruders in a major operation. According to the police, the documents recovered from all of them have been found to be fake. At present, the police is trying to reach the gang that made fake documents for these Bangladeshis.
It is worth noting that on the instructions of the Home Ministry, a special campaign is being run to identify and send back Bangladeshi citizens living illegally in Delhi. Taking action under this campaign, the South District Police conducted a verification campaign and caught these 40 Bangladeshi citizens.
The police is conducting a thorough investigation of the background of all the intruders taken into custody. The police is also trying to find out when and how these people entered the Indian border and which brokers or organized networks are working behind them. The main objective of the police is to expose the entire network which is involved in these illegal activities.
According to the police, most of the documents recovered from the arrested Bangladeshis were made in various districts of West Bengal. Investigation has revealed that brokers active in Bengal help these people cross the border and enter India and then provide them with fake documents. The police is not only checking the documents but is also searching their mobile phones.
A police officer said that often the mobile phones of these intruders have the numbers of their relatives living in Bangladesh. In such a case, if a little strictness is shown during interrogation, they call their relatives and ask for the documents related to their Bangladeshi citizenship identity.
The investigation has also revealed that Bangladeshi intruders cross the border and reach West Bengal, from where they board trains to Delhi and nearby states. On reaching here, they find receivers who put them to work as daily wage labourers, garbage pickers, street vendors or working at dhabas. A gang recently caught by the South East District Police had found several people involved in this kind of work. The police is investigating the whole matter in depth.
