Wife Feeds Sleeping Pills, Stabs Husband to Death in Delhi, Love Affair Angle Emerges
New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): Delhi has once again been rocked by a brutal murder within a marriage as a woman in Nihal Vihar killed her husband in a chillingly similar fashion to the recent Uttam Nagar case. Troubled by marital discord and financial stress, Farzana Khan allegedly gave her husband sleeping pills and then stabbed him multiple times, later fabricating a suicide story to mislead the police.
The incident came to light when Shahid alias Irfan was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital by his brother with three deep stab wounds on his stomach, raising suspicion. Farzana initially claimed her husband was addicted to online betting, heavily in debt, and had overdosed on pills before stabbing himself in a suicide attempt. However, the postmortem report revealed the injuries were clearly homicidal, exposing her lie.
Under intense questioning, Farzana confessed to the murder, and police recovered the knife used in the crime. Investigations also revealed she had an illicit affair with her cousin brother-in-law in Bareilly, which may have been a key motive. Police have arrested Farzana, collected forensic evidence with the help of an FSL team, and are probing further into the case that eerily mirrors the recent Uttam Nagar murder.
