New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): Just a day before the Vice Presidential election, the dinner party proposed for NDA MPs at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence has been cancelled. The event was to be held on September 8 and it was believed that this program was a part of the pre-election strategy meeting. The main reason for cancelling the program is being said to be the severe floods and natural disasters in many parts of the country. Especially the states of North India like Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir are currently in the grip of severe floods.

On the same day, a dinner was proposed for party leaders at the residence of BJP President JP Nadda, which has now been cancelled. This decision has been taken at a time when monsoon has wreaked havoc in the country. President Draupadi Murmu has also expressed concern over this natural disaster. In a post on the social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter), she said that she is deeply saddened by the damage caused by floods, cloudbursts and continuous rains in various parts of the country. She has expressed condolences to the affected people.

Floods have badly affected the lives of people in many states including Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Assam and Jammu and Kashmir. In such a situation, this sensitivity of the central government and political parties shows that the whole country is united in this hour of disaster.
