Gujarat ATS foils ISIS plot, arrests 3 terrorists in major anti-terror op

Gandhinagar (The Uttam Hindu): The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has foiled a terrorist attack plot in the country. The ATS arrested three suspected terrorists with links to the terrorist organization ISIS from the Adalaj area of Gandhinagar. Sources say the suspects were planning to carry out terrorist activities in various parts of the country.
The ATS received intelligence input a few days ago that some individuals were plotting to spread terror in Gujarat. Based on the information, the ATS launched a special operation and arrested the suspects from their hideouts. During the investigation, laptops, mobile phones, and several incriminating documents were recovered from them.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused were in contact with foreign handlers through social media and were attempting to radicalize young people. The Gujarat ATS is now interrogating them to determine who else is involved in their network and the areas they targeted in the country.
ATS officials said a case has been registered against the arrested terrorists under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
