New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Severe weather has struck Himachal Pradesh once again, causing widespread destruction. In Nandi Panchayat of Gohar, Mandi, a cloudburst triggered flash floods in the Naseni Nala, sweeping away several vehicles. In Rampur (Shimla district), a major landslide damaged five houses, leaving two individuals injured.

Authorities have issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall across the state for the next two days.

In Jatogh Cantonment, Shimla, a landslide posed a serious threat to army residential quarters. Four families were evacuated to safer locations late at night as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, near Shoghi on the Chandigarh-Shimla Highway, falling boulders from a hillside struck a vehicle, causing significant damage. In Bathal, Rampur, flash floods brought debris into more than three homes.

Due to the dangerous weather conditions, schools and colleges in Kangra, Kullu, and Sirmaur districts have been closed for the day. On the Chandigarh-Manali four-lane highway, a fresh landslide at Hanogi has completely blocked the road.

Across the state, heavy rains have led to the closure of 914 roads, including two national highways, disrupting normal life and transportation.
