Another Hindu Temple Attacked in US: ISKCON Radha Krishna Temple in Utah Targeted with 30 Rounds of Gunfire

Washington (The Uttam Hindu): Once again, a Hindu temple has been targeted in America. This time, the world-famous ISKCON Shri Shri Radha Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork, Utah, was attacked. Unknown assailants fired 20 to 30 rounds at the temple complex during the night, causing significant damage.
This temple is globally renowned for its annual Holi Festival. At the time of the attack, devotees and guests were present inside. The shooting caused major damage to the temple building and surrounding property, including intricately hand-carved arches. The incident has resulted in losses worth thousands of dollars.
The Consulate General of India in San Francisco strongly condemned the attack, stating on social media platform X: “We strongly condemn the incident of shooting at the ISKCON Shri Shri Radha Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork, Utah. We stand with all devotees and the community and urge local authorities to take swift action against the perpetrators.”
Temple officials noted that earlier, on March 9, 2025, a similar incident occurred at the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Chino Hills, California. Just days after that attack, a so-called “Khalistani referendum” was held in Los Angeles. The official website of BAPS America shared details of the attack on social media, stating: “Despite the desecration of the Chino Hills temple, the Hindu community stands united against hate. We will continue to uphold peace and compassion.”
The Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) also linked the incident to a rise in anti-Hindu hate crimes, describing it as a conspiracy leading up to the “Khalistan referendum.” CoHNA wrote: “Another Hindu temple has been vandalized — this time the iconic BAPS Chino Hills Temple. This does not seem like a coincidence, given the timing with the Khalistan referendum.” They also listed other attacks on temples since 2022 and demanded a thorough investigation.
On September 25, 2024, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Temple in Sacramento, California, was also targeted. Previously, a BAPS temple in New York was attacked, where hateful messages like “Hindus go back” were found, creating deep concern and a sense of insecurity within the Hindu community in America.
