High Drama in Jalandhar: Former MP Sushil Rinku, Ex-MLA KD Bhandari Dragged and Detained by Police

Jalandhar(The Uttam Hindu): Police detained former Member of Parliament Sushil Rinku and former MLA KD Bhandari along with several BJP leaders during a public welfare camp in Punjab. The camp, organized in Adampur and Shahpur constituencies, aimed to spread awareness about central government welfare schemes and help locals access these benefits.

As soon as KD Bhandari and Hardeep Singh inaugurated the event, a large police force arrived at the spot. The leaders were immediately taken into custody, sparking strong protests from BJP supporters present at the scene.

Eyewitnesses claimed that when other BJP leaders resisted, the police dragged and forcibly pushed them into vehicles, leading to heated confrontations. Supporters shouted slogans, calling it an act of “dictatorship” by the AAP government.

Following the arrests, BJP workers launched a street protest, further escalating tensions in the area. The incident has ignited a fresh political storm in Punjab, with the BJP accusing the ruling AAP government of suppressing opposition voices.
