Kashmir anti-terror operation: TRF chief's property worth ₹2 crore seized

Srinagar (The Uttam Hindu): Security forces have carried out another major operation against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Srinagar police have seized a three-story building belonging to notorious terrorist Sajjad Gul, founder of The Resistance Front (TRF), the organization responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack. According to officials, the property is valued at approximately ₹2 crore (approximately $20 million).
The palatial building was located on 15 marla land in Rose Avenue, HMT area. According to revenue records, the property was registered in the name of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, father of terrorist Sajjad Gul.
The police action was based on an FIR registered at the Parimpora police station. The property was seized under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), which empowers security forces to seize property used for terrorist activities.
The attachment process was completed in the presence of the concerned Executive Magistrate. Police investigations have revealed that Sajjad Gul has consistently engaged in activities such as promoting terrorism, spreading anti-India propaganda, and spreading hatred against the government through social media.
Srinagar police have described this action as a key part of their strategy to dismantle terrorist networks operating from across the border. This move sends a strong message to the government and police that those supporting terrorism will not be spared at any cost and that similar legal action will continue against their illegal assets.
