New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): After Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera, his wife Kota Neelima has landed in controversy over alleged possession of two active voter identity cards. BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya has accused Neelima, who contested from Telangana’s Khairatabad constituency, of being registered in both Telangana and Delhi voter lists simultaneously.

In a post on social media platform X, Malviya shared electoral roll extracts, claiming that Kota Neelima’s name appears in Khairatabad (Telangana) and New Delhi’s Kak Nagar constituency. According to him, Neelima’s Khairatabad EPIC number (TGZ2666014) was declared in her 2023 affidavit and continues to remain active with an updated address. At the same time, another EPIC number (SJE0755975) exists under the name “K. Neelima” from Delhi, where her husband’s name is mentioned as Pawan Khera.

Malviya alleged that several Congress leaders are involved in “voter theft”, accusing them of maintaining multiple registrations while projecting themselves as champions of democracy. He directly attacked Rahul Gandhi, saying:

“Rahul Gandhi, without proper verification, exposes the identities of honest voters during press conferences, putting them at risk. Yet he stays silent when his own party leaders are caught with multiple EPIC numbers.”

Citing examples, Malviya said the case of Pawan Khera and Kota Neelima shows that this is no coincidence. He further accused Congress of weakening democratic institutions by illegally enrolling leaders in multiple constituencies. The BJP leader went further, dragging senior Congress figures into the controversy. He alleged that Sonia Gandhi had her name added to India’s voter rolls in 1980 despite holding Italian citizenship at the time.

In his post, Malviya charged that the Congress and the INDIA bloc are protecting illegal migrants and non-citizens while attempting to malign ordinary voters. “Rahul Gandhi cannot wash his hands of these criminal acts within his own party, especially among those eyeing public office,” Malviya wrote, pressing for an Election Commission investigation into the matter.
