‘Come Meet Me’—And Then Bullets: Man Shoots Woman Lawyer in the Head, Then Kills Himself on the Spot

Kota(The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident of attempted murder and suicide shook Kota city late Friday night. A 32-year-old man, Karan Gurjar, allegedly shot a woman lawyer and then turned the gun on himself near the Mukundra forest post in the RK Puram area. The woman, identified as Purva Sharma, is in critical condition and undergoing treatment at Kota District Hospital. She practices law at the Kota District Court.

According to preliminary police reports, Karan followed Purva while she was riding her scooter and opened fire. After shooting her, he immediately shot himself. He died on the spot, while the woman survived with a bullet lodged in her skull. Karan was a resident of Mahaveer Nagar, originally from Kaithoon town. He had a criminal background with several cases registered against him in Kota. Investigators believe he and the victim had known each other for 3–4 years, possibly connected through a legal case.

A country-made pistol was recovered from the scene. Police suspect Purva may have come to the location after being called by Karan. A forensic team is examining the evidence, and statements from Karan’s family are being recorded to understand the motive.
