Stampede at Kubreshwar Dham: 2 Dead, 10 Injured Amid Overcrowding Ahead of Kanwar Yatra

Bhopal (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic stampede occurred at the Kubreshwar Dham in Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh, resulting in the death of two women and injuries to 8–10 other devotees. The chaos erupted as thousands of pilgrims gathered ahead of the Kanwar Yatra being organized by spiritual leader Pradeep Mishra, set to commence from Kubreshwar Dham to Chitawaliya Hema village on Wednesday.

The overwhelming crowd led to a shortage of space for accommodation, food distribution, and darshan, causing panic and a sudden rush. Amid the commotion, three individuals fell, with two women aged around 50 losing their lives due to being trampled.

Local hospitals are treating the injured, two of whom are reported to be in critical condition. Following the incident, additional police forces were deployed to manage the situation and maintain order. Officials are investigating the exact cause of the stampede and have urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with the administration. Traffic diversions have been enforced, and medical teams along with traffic personnel have been stationed at key points to assist devotees and prevent further incidents.
