Biggest Encounter of 2025! Massive Anti-Terror Operation in Kashmir’s Kulgam: 3 Terrorists Killed in 3-Day Encounter

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a high-stakes anti-terror operation in South Kashmir's Kulgam district, Indian security forces have neutralized three terrorists in an encounter that has entered its third consecutive day. The operation, which could be the largest counter-terror mission of 2025, is being executed in the dense Akhall forest region, involving joint teams from the Indian Army, CRPF, and J&K Police.
The encounter began on August 1, following intelligence inputs about terrorist movement in the area. As security forces closed in, the terrorists opened fire, triggering a fierce gunbattle. One soldier has reportedly sustained injuries.
Advanced surveillance systems have been deployed, and special para forces are engaged in the operation. Senior officials, including the DGP of J&K and 15 Corps Commander, are personally monitoring the mission.
This is the third major encounter in the Union Territory within a week. Earlier, three Pakistani terrorists involved in the Pahalgam tourist massacre were killed under “Operation Mahadev”, and two infiltrators were gunned down near the LoC in Poonch on July 31. With increased militant activity, additional security forces have been deployed across the region, and the operation in Kulgam remains ongoing as forces comb through the dense forest area for remaining threats.
