Fiery Midnight Horror in Kutch: Four Burn Alive, Several Injured in Deadly Car-Trailer Collision

Kutch(The Uttam Hindu): A horrific late-night road tragedy struck near Surajbari Bridge in Maliya, Kutch, when a speeding car collided head-on with a trailer, sparking a massive fire that engulfed both vehicles. The intense blaze claimed the lives of four people, who were burned alive inside the car, while over five others suffered severe injuries.
Local residents immediately alerted the police and fire department, who rushed to the scene. Firefighters battled the inferno and eventually brought the flames under control, but by then, the victims could not be saved. A video released by the fire department shows the desperate efforts to extinguish the fire.
Preliminary investigations by police suggest overspeeding and possible negligence as the main causes. Authorities are working to identify the victims and have shifted the injured to a nearby hospital. Forensic teams are also examining the wreckage to determine the exact sequence of events.
This tragedy comes just days after a deadly accident in Gandhinagar on July 25, where a speeding Tata Safari mowed down pedestrians and bikers, killing four. Gujarat has witnessed multiple such fatal crashes this year, including a March 6 incident in Sabarkantha where a potato-laden truck rammed a jeep, killing three and injuring 19.
