Lucknow(The Uttam Hindu):– A powerful explosion ripped through a firecracker factory in the Behta area of Gudamba on Sunday morning, killing at least six people, including four members of the same family. The blast, so intense it collapsed the factory’s roof and shook nearby homes, sent residents fleeing in terror.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, with multiple fire engines and SDRF teams engaged in a race against time to rescue those trapped under the rubble. Victims identified include factory worker Alam, his wife, and two sons, who were reportedly inside during the blast.
Locals are demanding answers as questions mount over how such a hazardous unit operated within a densely populated residential zone. Officials have launched an investigation into licensing violations and possible negligence. The death toll may rise as search and rescue operations continue.
