Bhopal(The Uttam Hindu): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has launched a sharp attack on the Congress, accusing its leaders of working against Hindutva. His remarks came in response to a viral video of Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, in which he is seen stating, “I proudly say we are tribals, not Hindus.”

Taking to social media platform X, CM Yadav wrote, “It is unfortunate that Congress always stands against Hindus and Hindutva. Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on Hindus were childish, Manishankar Aiyar repeated the same in another form, and leaders like Stalin and Revanth Reddy have followed the same pattern. Now Umang Singhar has gone further by saying that tribals are not Hindus. He should be ashamed.”

The Chief Minister warned that questioning Hindutva will never be forgiven by the people. “The citizens of the state and the nation are serious, and that is why Congress is facing such decline today. I demand that Congress leaders must apologize,” Yadav said.

The controversy erupted after Umang Singhar’s comments went viral online, triggering strong reactions from BJP leaders. BJP MP Gajendra Singh Patel stated, “The tribal community is an inseparable part of Hindu society. For generations, we have lived following Hindu traditions. Singhar is only spreading misinformation to promote Congress’s petty politics, but the tribal people know the truth.”

Echoing the criticism, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sumer Singh Solanki added, “The tribal community is an integral part of Hindu religion. I strongly condemn Umang Singhar’s statement. He must apologize to the entire nation for this divisive remark.” With political temperatures rising in Madhya Pradesh, the row has sharpened the BJP vs. Congress clash over Hindutva and tribal identity—an issue likely to resonate in upcoming political battles.
