New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Consumers have received a big relief as Mother Dairy announced a price cut on its dairy and food products. The new prices will come into effect from September 22, following the government’s recent GST 2.0 reforms, under which tax on several essential items has been reduced or completely removed.

Mother Dairy confirmed that its entire product portfolio now falls either under the zero-tax category or the lowest 5% slab. As part of this move, the company has reduced prices of popular products like UHT (Ultra-High Temperature) milk, paneer, butter, cheese, ghee, milkshakes, and ice cream.

Example of New Prices:

500g Butter: Now ₹285, earlier ₹305

Butterscotch Cone Ice Cream: Now ₹30, earlier ₹35

1L UHT Toned Milk (Tetra Pack): Now ₹75, earlier ₹77

However, there will be no change in the price of poly pack milk (full cream, toned, cow milk, etc.) as it has always been GST-free.

Mother Dairy’s Managing Director Manish Bandlish stated, “As a consumer-focused organization, we are passing on the complete benefit to our customers. While poly pack milk remains unaffected, consumers will directly benefit from price reductions on other products.”
