Major Naxal Attack in Bijapur: One DRG Jawan Martyred, Three Injured in IED Blast
Bijapur (The Uttam Hindu): A major Naxal attack shook Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Monday morning after an IED blast near Indravati National Park. The explosion claimed the life of a District Reserve Guard (DRG) jawan, while three other personnel sustained injuries.
According to officials, a joint team of the DRG and state police was carrying out an anti-Naxal operation in the area when insurgents triggered an improvised explosive device (IED) planted along the route. The martyred jawan has been identified as Dinesh Nag. Injured security personnel are being moved out of the forest for medical treatment.
Following the incident, security forces have intensified a search operation in the region to track down the Naxals responsible for the attack. The blast once again highlights the persistent threat of Maoist insurgency in Chhattisgarh’s conflict-hit districts.
