Pakistan Attacks 5 Indian States with 550 Drones; 5 Killed in Jammu & Kashmir, Army Hits Back Hard

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): On Saturday morning, Pakistan launched a sudden attack on five Indian states — Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Gujarat. The worst impact was seen in Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri, Poonch, and Jammu regions, where heavy shelling led to the death of five people, including an administrative officer.
According to defense sources, between 7:47 PM and 10:57 PM on Friday night, Pakistan launched over 550 drones across 26 cities in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. Due to the Indian Army’s alertness, the majority of these attacks were successfully thwarted. In response to the threat, red alerts were issued in Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh districts. Air raid warnings were also sounded in Chandigarh and Ambala in Haryana.
Pakistan has claimed that it targeted the Adampur, Udhampur, Pathankot, Suratgarh, and Sirsa airbases, along with the military training center in Rajouri and the BrahMos missile storage facility located in Beas, Punjab. However, India has not confirmed these claims.
In a swift counterattack, the Indian Army destroyed Pakistani posts and terror launch pads near Jammu, from where the drones were being operated. According to defense sources, this retaliation caused heavy damage to Pakistan. Considering the seriousness of the situation, the Indian Ministry of Defence and Ministry of External Affairs will hold a joint press conference at 10:30 AM today to provide official updates and outline the next steps.
