PM Modi Warns: 'A Bullet from Pakistan Will Meet an Artillery Shell from India’ — Rejects US Mediation

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Following a prolonged period of tension between India and Pakistan, both countries reached a ceasefire agreement on Saturday. Amid claims from international quarters regarding mediation, India has firmly reiterated that the decision for a ceasefire was initiated by Pakistan and not influenced by any third party.
Reports indicate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently had a direct conversation with US Vice President JD Vance, during which he outlined India’s firm stance on cross-border provocations. In the discussion, PM Modi clearly stated that if Pakistan initiates any hostile action, the response from India will be “even more devastating and tough.”
Referring to India’s military preparedness, the Prime Minister reportedly emphasized that Operation Sindoor is still underway and has not concluded. He warned that if a single bullet is fired from across the border, India will not hesitate to respond with artillery shells.
It has also emerged that contrary to speculation, there has been no direct communication between the National Security Advisors or Foreign Ministers of the two nations. The only official interaction occurred between the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan, reinforcing the point that the ceasefire understanding was operational and military in nature, not diplomatic.
The strong statement by PM Modi signals India’s unwavering position on national security and its intent to respond firmly to any act of aggression along the Line of Control.
