New Appointments: Asim Ghosh Takes Charge as Haryana Governor, Kavinder Gupta to Lead Ladakh

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): President Draupadi Murmu on Monday appointed governors of two states and lieutenant governor of a union territory. Asim Kumar Ghosh has been appointed governor of Haryana, while former Union Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju has been given the post of governor of Goa. Apart from this, BJP leader from Jammu and Kashmir, Kavinder Gupta has been appointed lieutenant governor of Ladakh.

The President's Office has given information about his appointment. This appointment will come into effect immediately. A notification in this regard has been issued by the President's press secretary Ajay Kumar Singh. Kavinder Gupta has been a big leader of Jammu and Kashmir BJP and has also held responsibility as Deputy Chief Minister. Now he has been removed from active politics by making him Lieutenant Governor, but has been sent to Ladakh. The reason for this is that Ladakh used to be a part of Jammu and Kashmir before 2019. Kavinder Gupta has good knowledge about Ladakh's politics, culture and other things. In such a situation, he is being considered a suitable person for the post of LG in Ladakh.
