Punjab Cabinet Clears 'Jiski Khet, Uski Rait' Policy, Rs 20,000/Acre Compensation for Flood Victims

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): An important meeting of the Punjab Cabinet was held regarding the floods in many districts of Punjab. The meeting is being held at the CM residence, in which Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has participated through video conferencing from the hospital. In this meeting, CM Mann has made big announcements for the flood-affected farmers.
CM Mann said that the government is going to implement the new policy of "Jiski Khet, Uski Sand" under which farmers will be allowed to extract sand from their fields and the ownership rights will also remain with them. Along with this, the CM has also extended a helping hand to the families of those who lost their lives in the floods. The government has announced to give Rs 4 lakh to those who died in the floods. Apart from this, compensation of Rs 20 thousand per acre has also been announced.
