Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu) : During the historic program organized to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in Sri Anandpur Sahib, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann made several important announcements related to reverence, development and facilities.

World-class university in the name of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

CM Mann said that the state government will establish a world-class university dedicated to the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and his spiritual message, which will become a centre of education, spirituality and research.

Free bus and auto service to pilgrimage sites:

He announced that completely free bus and auto services will be introduced for pilgrims visiting Amritsar Sahib, Talwandi Sahib, and Sri Anandpur Sahib. The Punjab government will bear the entire cost of this service, ensuring no pilgrim faces any financial burden during the pilgrimage.

New Heritage Street and Overall Development of the City

The Chief Minister announced that a new Heritage Street will be developed in Sri Anandpur Sahib, a beautiful blend of tradition, culture, and modern infrastructure. He also said that the Charan Ganga Stadium will be upgraded with state-of-the-art facilities.


CM Mann announced that all government shops in the city will be renovated in a uniform color and design, ensuring a uniform, attractive, and heritage-themed look for the entire holy city. The CM noted that history holds no precedent for the same person being cremated at two locations. He made this reference to the unparalleled sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, which was a key emotional component of the event.
