New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In light of the severe flooding and heavy rainfall in Punjab, the Central Government has stepped into action. On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Governor Banwarilal Purohit via phone to assess the current situation.
Amit Shah sought detailed information from CM Mann regarding:
The extent of flood damage
The ongoing relief and rescue operations by the state government. The Home Minister assured full support from the central government and said that NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) teams will actively assist the Punjab administration in its relief efforts.
He emphasized that the Central Government stands firmly with Punjab in this difficult time and will provide all necessary assistance to tackle the flood crisis effectively.
