On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Governor Banwarilal Purohit via phone to assess the current situation.

The ongoing relief and rescue operations by the state government. The Home Minister assured full support from the central government and said that NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) teams will actively assist the Punjab administration in its relief efforts.
