Punjab Police Foils Major Terror Attack: BKI Module Linked to Canada Masterminds Busted

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): The Counter Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police in Jalandhar has foiled a major terror plot after interrogating members of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) module. Recently, the team had arrested Ritik Narolia, a resident of Rajasthan, and a minor linked to BKI. During questioning, crucial leads surfaced that helped the police recover a powerful 86-P hand grenade intended for use in terror attacks.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that after the arrest of Ritik Narolia and the minor, further investigation led to the capture of their associates. One accused, Vishwajit, was arrested from Kolkata while attempting to flee to Malaysia, and another, Jackson, was nabbed from Nakodar. Their interrogation directly led to the grenade recovery.
Orders Came from Canada
According to DGP Yadav, the entire module was working under instructions from BKI masterminds Zeeshan Akhtar and Ajay Gill, based in Canada. The accused Vishwajit and Jackson had obtained two grenades from Beas in late July with the help of their associates. Out of these, one grenade was already used around 10 days ago in an explosion at a liquor shop in SBS Nagar, proving that the network was actively trying to spread terror across Punjab. An FIR has been registered at the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), Amritsar. DGP Yadav reaffirmed that Punjab Police is fully committed to rooting out terrorism and organized crime from the state.
