National Tennis Star Radhika Yadav Murder Case: Father Sent to 14-Day Judicial Custody

Gurugram(The Uttam Hindu): In a shocking twist to the murder of national-level tennis player Radhika Yadav, her father Deepak Yadav, who confessed to the crime, has been sent to 14-day judicial custody by a Gurugram court on Saturday. He will be lodged in Bhondsi Jail.
The 25-year-old athlete was found dead at her residence in Sushant Lok Phase-2, Sector 57, Gurugram. Preliminary police investigation revealed that her father was opposed to her running a tennis academy and had allegedly asked her multiple times to shut it down. When she refused, he allegedly shot her dead.
Deepak was arrested at the crime scene on Thursday and was remanded for one day for interrogation. On Saturday, he was produced before the court again, following which he was sent to custody.
However, Radhika’s former coach Ankit Patel questioned the motive behind the murder. Speaking to IANS, he said, “This is unbelievable. I’ve known Radhika since she was around 10–11. Her father was always supportive, taking her to tournaments and training. It's hard to believe he could do this.” Coach Patel added that he last saw Radhika nearly 1.5 years ago and is unaware of what may have changed since.
