The tension on the border between Thailand and Cambodia has increased dangerously and both countries have started fierce shelling and rocket attacks on each other. According to AP News, at least 9 people have died so far in this conflict, while 14 people are injured.
According to RT News, Cambodia has targeted and destroyed a gas station in Thailand with a BM-21 rocket, causing panic in Bangkok. Pictures are emerging of Thai soldiers lying on the ground to save their lives during the attacks. Unconfirmed reports put the death toll at 14, which includes several school children and civilians.
After the war broke out between the two countries, the US Embassy in Thailand has issued an urgent security advisory for its citizens. The advisory said, "Rocket and artillery gun attacks were reported in Thailand and Cambodia on July 24. All US citizens who are in border areas are advised to vacate the area immediately."
Meanwhile, international media is claiming that Thailand has carried out a retaliatory airstrike on Cambodia. According to reports, Thailand has used F-16 fighter jets in this attack.
