Thailand(The Uttam Hindu): Tensions between Thailand and Cambodia have come to a pause as both nations agreed to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced the breakthrough, stating that the decision marks a positive step toward resolving the border conflict peacefully.

The agreement follows Malaysia’s offer to mediate after escalating military action between the two Southeast Asian neighbors. Over the past week, both sides accused each other of initiating the skirmishes, which involved heavy artillery and aerial strikes. The violent exchanges resulted in multiple casualties and severe infrastructure damage. Several nations had already issued travel advisories, urging citizens to avoid the affected regions and stay in contact with their embassies.

Separately, in Bangkok, a shocking shooting unfolded on Monday when a 61-year-old man opened fire in a crowded market. The attack left six people dead and two women seriously injured. The gunman reportedly ended the rampage by shooting himself. The injured victims were rushed to Phyathai Phaholyothin Hospital for treatment.
