Islamabad (The Uttam Hindu) Pakistan has once again brought the Kashmir issue to the forefront, this time during Bakrid celebrations. On Saturday, Army Chief General Asim Munir made a visit to the forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) and took the time to chat with the soldiers stationed there.

As reported by the ISPR (Inter-Services Public Relations), Munir shared Eid greetings with the troops, commending their vigilance, morale, and readiness. He noted that celebrating Eid away from loved ones truly reflects the spirit of national service. Touching on the recent clashes with India, Munir asserted that the Pakistani Army delivered a “strong response” to India, a statement interpreted as a reaction to India's targeted strikes on terror bases in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir following the tragic April 22 attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 tourists.

He reiterated Pakistan's unwavering support for the "just and courageous struggle" of the Kashmiris, emphasizing that the Kashmir issue should be resolved in accordance with UN resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people. On the other hand, India stands firm in its belief that Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of the nation, insisting that there is no room for external interference.

This issue arises amidst escalating regional tensions and remains a key focus of Pakistan’s foreign policy, especially during times of internal or global pressure.
