WPO Jalandhar Chapter Sends Relief Material Worth ₹3 Lakh for Punjab Flood Victims

Jalandhar(The Uttam Hindu):– In a significant humanitarian gesture, the World Punjabi Organisation (WPO) Jalandhar Chapter has mobilized relief aid worth over ₹3 lakh to support ongoing rehabilitation efforts for flood-affected regions in Punjab.
The initiative comes under the larger flood relief drive led by WPO President Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Padma Shri awardee and Rajya Sabha MP, who is set to inaugurate a mega warehouse between Amritsar and Ajnala on September 15 to streamline the distribution of relief materials.
Responding promptly, WPO Jalandhar Chapter President Harpreet Singh (Speedways Tyres) rallied members to pool funds within minutes. On the advice of WPO International, the amount was utilized to procure 500 mattresses and 500 bedsheets, facilitated at a discounted rate by member Shri Sunny Ghumbar.
Prominent contributors included Rajinder Juneja (Kartar Valves), Gaurav Chopra (Raga Motors), Dr. Munish Khurana (Innocent Hearts Super-speciality Hospital), Jatinder Kumar Arora (Lakshay International), Gurpreet Bhaizada (Bhaizada & Sons), and Rajinder Maingi (Food Yard Garden Restaurant), among others.
Earlier today, two fully loaded canters carrying the relief supplies were flagged off after Ardaas at Model Town Gurudwara Sahib, Jalandhar. The ceremony was attended by Jalandhar Mayor Vinit Dhir, WPO members, and community well-wishers. The consignment is now en route to WPO’s mega warehouse near Amritsar for further distribution.
Several other members of the Jalandhar Chapter, including Mohak Jain (Haveli), Sh. Rakesh Laroia, Ajay Mahajan, CA Salil Gupta, Shaleen Joshi (LIC), Baljinder Singh Vinayak, Deepak Chawla, Hardeep Chowdhary, Harpreet Ghuman, Harvansh Chadha, Indervansh Chadha, Jaiveer Kang, Karan Kakar, Karan Munjral, Mahesh Chadha, Palwinder Singh, Pawandeep Chhabra, R.M. Walia, Raghav Sood, Rahul Lamba, Rajan Aggarwal, Rajmir Singh, Sameer Bhandari, Satnam Singh, Tony Sapra, Vishal Gupta, and Yatinder Sehdev, also participated in the Ardaas and flagging-off ceremony.
The ladies of WPO members also joined the solemn occasion, reinforcing the spirit of community solidarity. Expressing gratitude, the WPO Jalandhar Chapter said it welcomes further support from the community to strengthen its humanitarian efforts in Punjab’s flood-hit areas.
