₹1,000 nude video trap: Woman honey-traps 27-year-old, marries him and then extorts

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) - Amid the rise in cybercrime on social media, a sensational case has come to light. Bharat Kumar, a 27-year-old resident of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh, was first duped of lakhs of rupees through a nude video, then forced into marriage, and finally, the woman fled with cash and jewellery.
Bharath is a resident of Cherlopalli in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh and works in a private transport company. According to Bharath, in the year 2019, he received a message from a young woman on his X. The woman, claiming to be helpless, said that she works to earn money by showing nude videos and would stay nude online for ten minutes for one thousand rupees. The young man fell into this trap and started watching nude videos of the woman with her face covered through Telegram. This is where the game of blackmailing started. The woman started threatening Bharath by taking screenshots of the video and gradually extorted lakhs of rupees from him.
From blackmailing to marriage:
Under pressure from blackmail, the woman agreed to marry. The two met in Lucknow and Gorakhpur in 2021. In 2023, the woman arrived in Hyderabad and, threatening suicide, was forced to marry. After a temple wedding in March 2025, the marriage was registered through a court marriage.
The conspiracy was revealed.
About two months after the marriage, the woman's other side was revealed. She began talking to another man on the phone and even transferred 40,000 rupees online. During interrogation, it was revealed that the man was her second husband, while this was her third marriage to the victim.
After absconding with cash and jewellery,
the girl reached Deoria after absconding with Rs 4 lakh cash and jewellery. When the victim approached the Deoria police, the Additional SP advised him to register the case there citing the incident and marriage having taken place in Andhra Pradesh. However, the Mahila Thana police has accepted the application. The victim alleges that the girl is involved in the business of trapping people through social media, marrying them and then extorting money by blackmailing them. He is demanding the return of his money and jewellery along with strict legal action.
