Cockroach Scare on Air India San Francisco-Mumbai Flight, Clarification Issued
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): There was a panic in Air India flight AI180 flying from San Francisco, USA to Mumbai when cockroaches were found inside the plane. Two passengers on board the plane complained to the cabin crew after seeing these cockroaches, after which they were immediately shifted to other seats.
The incident happened when the flight was on its way from San Francisco to Mumbai via Kolkata. Before reaching Mumbai, two passengers noticed cockroaches roaming around in the cabin. They immediately informed the crew members about this. Keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, they were immediately made to sit on other seats.
Air India has issued a statement on this incident and called it unfortunate. According to the airline spokesperson, when the plane stopped for refueling in Kolkata, the plane was thoroughly deep cleaned by the ground staff. After this, the plane left for Mumbai on its scheduled time.
Air India apologised for the inconvenience caused to the passengers and said, despite regular cleaning, sometimes insects enter the aircraft. The matter of how the cockroaches entered the aircraft is being investigated so that such incidents can be prevented in future.
